What's On

Themed Sessions at Wittfest

One of Wittfest's special features is our set of themed sessions that we run on Saturday and Sunday afternoon in the Family Room at the front of the pub.

For musicians and singers, this is an opportunity to play and sing in a small and friendly environment, and we do, of course , welcome those of you who just like to come and listen. After all, we do like an audience! Please feel free to come in and go out as you please, but we would prefer it if you did so between songs, out of courtesy to the singers.

We hope we've included something to suit everyone, and if you have a particular passion for one of the themes, this is a chance to indulge yourself! As far as we know, we are the only festival that runs a Ballads Session, and every year many people come along to the festival just for that. And "Sounds of the Sixties" has proved so popular that it has been extended to one and a half hours - one hour just isn't long enough to fit in all those great songs!

When no Themed Sessions are listed, the Family Room is open for anyone to play or sing as they choose. if there isn't a session going on, start one!

If you're a plant-lover as well as a music-lover, you can come and visit the Plant Stall at the festival, which is situated near enough to the marquee so that you can still hear the music while you browse! This stall was a huge success last year and we very nearly sold out! For the "early birds" there will be included some unusual and attractive perennials which are not easy to find elsewhere. as well as many "old favourites". Lucy will be able to provide advice on growing conditions and there will be a "Plant Crche" so that you won't have to carry your plants round with you - just come and collect them when you leave! So, remember, come and visit the Plant Stall and take a bit of Wittfest home to grow in your garden to remind you of the Festival every time it flowers!
